Trevor

Trevor Haapamaki was the most prominent house musician at The Townehouse until 1999 when he moved permanently to the West.  He now returns each year around Christmas for about a month and plays several gigs.  He was the best front man that Sudbury bands ever had.  Not just for his vocal abilities and raw emotion on stage but for his coaching of the band through songs they have never played before.  As a guitarist he could always point to the next chord with a spare finger to let the players know where the song was going.  A lover of effects, it is still common for a singer at the Townehouse to ask during soundcheck for their voice to be Trevorsized.  A passionate hockey fan and music fan.  Sets in April and May used to be tailored around the breaks in the hockey games.

Current bands:

Former and occasional Bands:  TMoD, Budget Motel, Valhalla, Towering Infernos, Paint By Number Jesus, the Potatoes, Wreck Beach

Albums:  Wreck Beach – Tavern CD 1998

Repertoire – Trevor has lots of Neil Young, Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Hank Williams, Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, The Doors, plus a few gems from the Clash, Talking Heads, Prince etc.  He used to play EVERY Tuesday night, and there was always a crowd of people who wouldn’t leave until he did Pocahontas or Purple Rain or In Dreams.
